Do I need a visa if I am transiting through the UAE?
A visa is necessary for transiting through Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or any other emirate in the UAE under the following circumstances:
- If you do not fall under the exemptions for UAE Tourist Visas or if you are not qualified for a UAE Visa On Arrival.
- When your subsequent flight is scheduled within either 48 or 96 hours.
It's important to note that nationals of Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Niger, and Yemen are ineligible to apply for a Transit Visa for the UAE.
Before departing, you must apply for a UAE transit visa. But, just like with other types of UAE visas, you need a sponsor who can apply on your behalf at a UAE embassy or consulate abroad.
Additionally, you can also apply for a tourist e-visa, which is issued for short-term visits to the UAE for tourism, family visits, or business meetings. A UAE e-visa permits its holders to stay in the country for 30, 60, or 90 days, depending on the type of UAE e-visa they apply for.
By visiting the UAE Immigration Services website on a laptop, mobile phone, or iPad with a reliable network connection, you can quickly obtain an e-visa at home. We can make it simpler for you to obtain an e-visa for your travel to the UAE, thanks to our knowledgeable personnel.
